AILA Ibero-America (AIALA)

AILA Ibero-America (AIALA) was created in 2020 due to the importance of promoting global collaboration and multilingual perspectives in the fields of science, particularly in the fields of applied linguistics. AIALA aims to promote multilingual collaborations, increase the representation of applied linguistics and Ibero-American languages in this field and create new national affiliates of AILA in the region, and thus, show the Ibero-American linguistic diversity.

National AILA Affiliates supporting AIALA:

AMLA (Mexico)

ALAB (Brazil)

AESLA (Spain)

AAAL (USA)

Regardless of geographic location, AIALA broadens the concept of “regional” to refer to Spanish, Portuguese, minority and indigenous languages that are spoken and researched by applied linguists around the world.
